Whole window

Reims, Cathedral - west rose window

Damaged by hail (1866) and World War I shells the window still contains some (20%?) original glass of c.1290. It has been in the care of the Simon family for many generations. The Death and Assumption of the Virgin at the center is surrounded by the 12 Apostles, angels - some musical - then kings and prophets. At the summit is Christ holding the Virgin's soul
